This course is designed to prepare an Unlicensed Medication Assistant (UMA) for employment and to meet the qualifications for administering medication in approved health care facilities in South Dakota. Course material includes basic pharmacology, medication administration, as well as safety and infection control while administering authorized medications. Other topics include body structure, function, life span considerations and more.
