This course is designed to meet requirements for med aides working for direct home and community based service providers recognized by the Division of Developmental Disabilities, a division of the South Dakota Department of Human Services. This program is intended to prepare workers to effectively and safely administer medications at an employing service provider in South Dakota. Course material includes basic pharmacology, medication administration, along with safety and infection control while administering authorized medications. Other topics include body structure, function, life span considerations and more.
